Band Photos - A Preview

I like shooting band promos. It seems like a genre with almost limitless potential.

The way I see it, a band promo is basically a group picture. But it's a group picture without all the trappings of a normal group picture (as in: a family in white Polo t-shirts and khaki pants near running water. Soft focus.)

Almost any picture, as long as it’s good, will work for a band picture.

These are two photos I shot today. Pictured here is 75% of The Crylics. These photos were made outside of my parents house during a lull in the rain, as we waited for the other 25% of the band to arrive.
